Abstract
Background: Physician job satisfaction refers to the degree to which a physician likes or dislikes his/her specialty, and how content they are with it. The study aims to assess the level of satisfaction among physicians working in Saudi Arabia.
Methodology: A cross-sectional survey design conducted in Saudi Arabia from January 2018 to August 2018. A preexisting satisfaction measurement survey (Physician Work-life Survey) had been distributed through google forms. Personal contacts and social media were used to reach the largest population of physicians from different specialties. All collected data had been verified and validated based on the objectives of the study.
Results: Regarding the level of job satisfaction, 66.1% of participants were satisfied with their job while the rate of poor satisfaction was found at 33.9%. Gender (p-0.005), marital status (p-0.044), specialty (p-0.016) and university graduates (p-<0.001) were all having a significant association with the level of job satisfaction. In the multivariate regression model, male physicians (AOR=1.707, p-0.008) and those with other specialties (AOR=2.435, p-0.010) were significantly more associated with having a good level of satisfaction while graduates of Taibah University were not satisfied with their job.
Conclusion: The job satisfaction of the physician was generally good. Internal medicine and surgical specialty had better satisfaction than any other specialty. Males were more satisfied with their job while graduates of Taibah University had poor satisfaction with their job.

Key words: Physician, job satisfaction, specialty, medical school
