Knowledge and attitude towards screening and vaccination for cervical cancer among females in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

Abstract
Objective: This study aimed to estimate the knowledge and attitude of screening and vaccination for cervical cancer (CC) among females in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted by distributing an online survey among adult women living in Jeddah to assess their knowledge level and attitude towards screening and vaccination for CC. The data were collected in Jeddah between June and July 2023.
Results: This study enrolled 501 participants, of whom the majority (43.9%) of participants fell within the 20-30 years age group and 45.3% of the participants were married. Based on knowledge level, 303 individuals accounted for good knowledge (60.5%). Concerning attitude score, the majority reflected a negative attitude (54.3%).
Conclusion: Addressing the knowledge and attitudes of screening and vaccination for CC among females in Jeddah is crucial for reducing the burden of the disease in the region.
