Patella instability post-total knee replacement: a review

Abstract
Patellar instability is a common clinical complication that can occur as a complication after total knee replacement (TKR). Patellar instability after TKR is a serious complication that adversely affects the functional outcome of the patient and may lead to the surgery revision. The study aimed to overview the instability of the patella after TKR. We searched for articles related to our subject to be included in this review through scientific websites using different keywords. The articles were chosen based on inclusion criteria. The included articles in this review were published between 2006 and 2020. The review was written under subheadings in the discussion part. Patellar instability after TKR is a serious complication that may require revision of surgery. The surgical intervention is the treatment strategy. Accurate preoperative assessment is necessary to obtain good surgical outcomes.
