Authors: May AlMoshary, Aziza Alswayyed, Basmah Bin Salamah.

ABSTRACT

Background: The presence of lupus anticoagulant is associated with an elevated risk of venous and arterial thrombosis, and recurrent miscarriages as well. It is never accompanied by a hemorrhagic diathesis unless itís associated with a second coagulation abnormality such as thrombocytopenia or hypoprothrombinemia. Lupus Anticoagulant Hypoprothrombinemia (LAHPS) is a rare disease. Case presentation: A case of a child with SLE associated lupus-anticoagulant hypoprothrombinemia syndrome (LAHPS) that presented with mild bleeding diathesis and coagulopathy with FactorII = 8.7%, is presented. Conclusion: Treatment with prednisone was started and it showed clinical and laboratory improvement.
