ABSTRACT

Abstract: Over the years, postoperative cognitive dysfunction (POCD) has been considered an essential complication of cardiac surgery. Neurocognitive dysfunction can affect the quality of life and lead to social, emotional, functional, and financial problems in the patient's life. In this article, the incidence, symptoms, diagnosis, risk factors, and treatment of POCD are reviewed.
